Just a few more tidbits from an insider source:

1. Although going to Disneyland in the off season (not summer or holidays) is nice, expect there to be a few rides not running. Offseason is our main time for refurbishing and sprucing up our attractions to make them ready for the peak season again. Check Disneyland.com for a refurbishment schedules to plan your trip accordingly.

2. Cast members don't plan breakdowns or cancellations. Contrary to popular belief, we don't like it when a ride goes down or a show gets canceled. Why? Cause I don't like it when guests are unhappy... it makes me unhappy. Myself (and most of my fellow CMs included) don't like telling people bad news. Its not fun. I'd much rather be able to keep the ride running or the fireworks show showing on time. Happy guests= happy me! Most of the time when an attraction goes down or a the fireworks aren't going, its because safety is factor. We don't want people getting hurt and you don't want to get hurt.

3. Unless otherwise stated, food and drinks are now not allowed on attractions at Disneyland. This can be a gray area especially concerning drinks with lids, but I've seen CMs hold people back from getting on the jungle cruise and the trains because of a cup of coffee. Just to be safe, finish your food and drink in the line before boarding or safely stow it. I don't want you wasting $2.95 either!

4. Hydrate! I know it seems like a no-brainer, but drink plenty of water, even if its not a hot day. All the walking really starts to drain.

5. A guest assistance card is not a front-of-the-line pass. We want to accommodate everyone as quick and we can, but having a wheelchair or an ACV is not going to get you on everything super fast. Sometimes it even takes longer because of special loading procedures. Just be patient with us.
